Paralegals research, draft documents and organize cases for lawyers. It is detail-heavy office work that rewards good writing, and you can enter with a two-year degree or, if you already have a degree, a paralegal certificate.

## The work

You draft letters and court filings, summarize depositions, manage deadlines, gather records and keep files in order. Some paralegals specialize in areas like real estate, family law or litigation. Long hours can come before trials.
