# 6-month certificate programs that pay well Half a year to a new paycheck.

Short programs

Six months is short enough to manage with a job and a family, and long enough to learn a real skill. These jobs commonly have programs in that range, though length varies by school and state, so always check.

In short

Jobs with training programs often offered in about six months or less include commercial truck driving, phlebotomy, nursing assistant, pharmacy technician, medical coding, EMT and some HVAC and welding certificates. Truck drivers earned a median of $58,640 in May 2025. Program length varies by school, so confirm the hours before you enroll.

**Job numbers from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics** Updated October 9, 2026. Pay figures are national medians and are not a promise of what you will earn.
