Trade school for adults You will not be the oldest one in class.

Going back to school

Adult students are the norm at community and technical colleges, not the exception. If you are working, parenting or just out of school for a long time, programs are built with you in mind. Here is what to look for.

In short

Adults going back to trade school should look for evening, weekend or hybrid programs, ask about credit for prior work or military experience, and apply for aid; Pell Grants have no age limit. American Job Centers can help adults choose programs and may help pay if you qualify. Many programs offer refresher math or reading courses if it has been a while.
