In short
WIOA is a federal program that pays for job training for eligible adults and dislocated workers through local American Job Centers. If you qualify, a career counselor helps you choose an approved program and may issue a training account to cover tuition. Start by finding your nearest center, then ask about WIOA training funds and eligibility.
Who may qualify
Rules are set locally within federal guidelines, but WIOA adult and dislocated worker programs generally serve people who are unemployed, laid off, low income or underemployed. Priority often goes to people receiving public assistance, low-income adults and veterans. Ask your center how they decide.
